Weee Man

This Sleepy Rabbit is truly indulging and pampering us with his new music: Underneath the Paper Tiger. Have you listened to it yet? Is it wrong to use the word evocative? Because that’s what it is. It evokes all sorts of colours and smells of places I probably haven’t even been: the absolute middle of the ocean, islands overrun by birds and vegetables, the old booming silent places of the terribly deep.

But, as you might expect from M. Rabbit, this is not some innocuous atmospheric soundscape, and it’s no stretch of the imagination to picture yourself standing on the deck of a boat or on some quiet shore place listening to this and thinking that it might just be the soundtrack to something important.

The picture above is not related to Sleepy Rabbit, but I didn’t want to cause a hoo-hah by posting two entries at once, did I? It’s a picture of the Weee Man. Have you seen him already? I only saw him at the end of the year. He’s a special massive robot-like (but non-moving) man who is made of the kind of electronic equipment people are likely to throw away during their lives. Go to the website to get thoroughly told off about the amount of stuff YOU throw away.

He’s a big man, by the way. That’s a lawnmower, and that’s only a hoover. I think his teeth might be computer mouses. The picture is grey because it was late and it was nearly dark. I like the way he’s looming out of the dusk like a giant metaphor.

Enjoy. Music to follow either before or on Dec. 18th. I’ve got 6 songs almost completely sync’d and there’re quite a few more .. nothing a little thing like me can’t handle though.

Undersea

I have put the new Undersea by Sleepy Rabbit on the line. The old version cut off halfway through, and you missed out on the full epicerie of the thing. Also, I wouldn’t like to speak out of turn, but I think there’s some very satisfying revisiting of themes happening in Undersea. That kind of thing floats my boats.
